The Salon Sessions: Sisterhood Takes the Mic

The salon has always been more than a place to get your hair done. It’s a meeting point, a space where women exchange stories, laugh, reflect, and find strength in each other’s experiences. That same spirit has now been reimagined for the digital age with the launch of The Salon Sessions, a fresh cultural production from TGTM Agency.

Hosted by Zee Nxumalo, the show made its debut this week with the first episode, The Sisterhood Clause, now streaming on YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts. It brings together Zee, lifestyle influencer Thandiwe Dube, and sports broadcaster Sinethemba Mbatha for an unfiltered and uplifting conversation that feels like sitting in the salon chair while life unfolds around you.

Zee admits she almost turned down the chance to host. “I was nervous, but the conversations were so powerful. Looking back, I’m glad I did it. This concept is amazing.” Thandiwe highlights the importance of visibility. “Women can speak honestly about their journeys, and that inspires while normalizing the challenges we face.” For Sinethemba, the experience unlocked something new. “The Salon Sessions reminded me of the power of sisterhood. We don’t need to compete; we can uplift each other.”

For creator and executive producer Wandile Madondo, the show is more than content. It’s a cultural space, a platform designed to empower and bring women together through dialogue that matters. That vision is shared by Liphezulu Financial Services, the 100% female-owned company backing the production. Its founder, Ntombi Shiceka, says supporting The Salon Sessions was about more than media. “It’s about impact and representation.”

The first episode is already out, and it’s clear this is just the beginning. With full conversations available on YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts, and highlights rolling across Instagram, TikTok and Facebook, The Salon Sessions is shaping up to be the table every woman wants a seat at.
