Edtea team up with aQuellé Khula to Clean Up kwa Dlangezwa

Last week Friday the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (Edtea) partnered with aQuellé Khula Soft drinks to host a massive clean up campaign around Kwa Dlangezwa (Vulindlela Township ). The Green army that consisted of local NGOs and local Schools focused on cleaning up the commercial area as well as the sport complex.

The campaign also served as an awareness campaign on good waste management practices, Qhakaza High School, Ongoye High School and Ntshangula Primary School pupils were part of the beneficiaries of the brief yet intense workshop presented by Edtea and AQuellé Khula.

University of Zululand was represented by Team Enactus, A student led body that advocates for entrepreneurship. The President of Enactus Unizulu indicated that they have recently formed a waste management and recycling company that will service the University of Zululand and nearby community.

The participants enjoyed edutainment activities from Khula Soft Drink mascot and local schools. The community was encouraged to recycle or re-use plastic bottles as part of the efforts to reduce plastic that is going to the landfill. AQuellé Khula Soft Drinks and refreshments were also served to the volunteers, sponsored by AQuellé.
