Fashion & Film Meets Tourism empowers local fashion designers

The Drakensberg Extravaganza, Fashion & Film Meets Tourism initiative which is cordinated by Qhawekazi Styles_Collection is changing lives in the rural community of Bergville and uThukela District at large.

This program had build ups which identified over 20 aspiring and emerging fashion designers from uThukela District, the build up activities incorporated trainings on fashion design. Local designers were divided into 4 groups which are made up of 6 “creatives”. Those groups will showcase at the Drakensberg Extravaganza Fashion Meets Tourism Fashion show. They were tasked to come up with creative concepts of iMvunulo, Isishweshwe, Navy Military and African Print. All the expenses for the materials were paid by the organisers.

3 well established fashion brands will also showcase in this fashion extravaganza. Qhawekazi Styles Collection by Samke Khanyile, Forward Play by Dumolwakhe and Zolution Fashion By Zodwa Makhado will be showcasing their brands as well.

Top 3 designers will get R10 000 worth of investment that will go towards uplifting their business.
